For many years Richard Marsh has been a track marshal with Spedeworth Motorsports, and can be seen waving the red & yellows behind the fence at Foxhall raceway. This year he has decided to do something a bit different leading up to Spedeweekend.
Richard is trying to raise funds for the air ambulance service and a local Ipswich school. Thomas Wolsey school, based in Ipswich, is for children with moderate to severe physical and associated learning difficulties.,
In a rather unique way of raising some cash, he is growing a ‘half beard’ and for some months has been collecting donations for his chosen charities. The hair brained scheme reaches its finale at Spedeweekend when Madam Starter Lynne Cooper will be getting out her cut throat razor and in full view of the gathered crowd on the centre green, will be tidying things up! Let’s hope she has a steady hand.
So far Richard has raised over £250 pounds and is well on his way of achieving his target. Its hoped the generous oval racing folk will dig deep over the coming weeks and on the big day, so he can achieve his worthwhile cause.
