On a night where mother nature certainly made her presence felt; the V8 Stock Cars rumbled into Plough Lane to compete for their London Championship - an event that was originally scheduled for February 5th until the meeting was cancelled due to snowy conditions!

A very wet track greeted the 10 cars who gathered to do battle for Heat One and it was 123 Dave Miles Jnr who made the greatest progress to make rapid progress to the front of the grid - a lead he was never likely to give up!

Heat Two saw the rain having eased slightly but the track remained very wet indeed - limiting the drivers opportunities to utilise the power of their big V8 engines. It was Miles Jnr in the 123 machine who hit the front again to take an easy victory and install himself as many people's firm favourite to win the London Championship Final.

Conditions were still wet as 9 cars took to the Plough Lane tarmac for the London Championship Final. Daryl Harris took victory in the London Championship with the returning Lee Barnard second in the 71 machine, Dave Miles Jnr could only manage third as he struggled to get the power of the 123 car's engine transferred onto the wet Wimbledon asphalt.

Congratulations to Daryl Harris - the new London Champion. Daryl was quoted as saying "not bad for one of the oldest cars on track" clearly showing that it is not necessary to spend a fortune to be competitive in the formula!
