Spedeworth / Incarace are immensely proud to announce that flying in to the UK from South Africa, for the first time in many years and returning to Wimbledon for the first time since 1973 is former double World Superstox Champion, #294 Geoff Goddard.

Throughout the late sixties and early seventies Geoff was one of the real Superstars of Superstox racing and certainly one of its innovators. Regularly travelling the UK and on the continent the honours came Geoff’s way and back to back World Championships in 1971 and 1972 were landed at Wimbledon at a time when the Superstox World Championship was ‘THE’ event of the year and packed Wimbledon out to the rafters as per Unlimited Banger World Finals were to in later years.

In 1973 Geoff came very close to a third successive title at Wimbledon but a clash with a backmarker saw his challenge end with the car on its side and a very young Derek Warwick went on to take the win before embarking a career which lead to Grand Prix F1.

Following the 73 season, Geoff emigrated to South Africa where he raced at Mahem Raceway Pretoria where our UK Team have just been racing, before he eventually became a Driver for BMW and was heavily involved in the Saloon car Racing Scene in South Africa.

Now retired Geoff resides near the Indian Ocean with second wife Lolli and co – owns a large sailing yacht to keep him occupied.
Geoff will be flying in to the UK a few days before the March 26th Farewell meeting and will be staying with his former Reading stablemate from all those years ago, #364 Tony May.

We certainly look forward to seeing him and welcoming him back to Wimbledon!
